Cisco to offer HD from your TV video calls

Cisco announced HD video calls via your television with the Cisco Telepresence umi.

Technology will use your existing HD television and broadband connection to provide that Cisco describes as "more realistic video communication, natural experience available to consumers today.

"This new technology allows consumers to chat with their friends or family on a large screen with the highest possible resolution," said the release of Cisco.

"Once that consumers experience Cisco Telepresence, umi will be surprised by the clear and realistic experience with traditional videoconferencing."

Video growth

The popularity of Skype and the widespread availability of broadband connections mean that video-conferencing and call is located on the place, and Cisco are willing to be at the forefront of moving the computer TV connected.

Interestingly, Cisco is the company providing the controversial technology Connect of BT content – a system that allows video traffic to be priority through its network, although there is no Telepresence confirmation that Cisco will take advantage.

This technology creates the experience of being in the same room with your friends and family, regardless of their location, emphasizes Cisco.

"Grandparents see their grandchildren to share news of commitment with parents across the country and close to Cisco Telepresence umi anniversary video message registration allows family and friends to be set for all the days of occurrences of most important events in life."
